Join Wild Ones and Zoe Evans, Cornell Master Naturalist and VP of Education & Partnership at Wildr Places, on November 18th for a practical look at how to assess the habitat value of the place you live. Rather than focusing on a single garden project or plant list, Zoe will walk through the interconnected pieces that make a landscape function as habitat, from native plants and layers of vegetation to water, shelter, healthy management practices, and the small signs that wildlife is already responding.

Zoe Evans
Zoe Evans is a Master Naturalist, ecological educator, and VP of Education & Partnerships at Wildr Places, where she develops tools and programs that help people turn an interest in helping nature into confident, practical action at home.
With a background in neurobiology and translational science, Zoe is especially interested in the intersection of ecology and human behavior: what motivates people to act, what gets in the way, and how better tools, education, and experiences can make ecological stewardship feel more achievable.
She is also the co-founder of Design Your Wild, where she teaches homeowners how to create landscapes that support biodiversity while remaining beautiful, functional, and enjoyable places to live. Beyond residential landscapes, Zoe is actively involved in watershed conservation, environmental policy, and ecological hunting. She co-founded Forest Defense: Ecological Hunting Alliance, an initiative focused on addressing the impacts of deer overbrowsing on forest health.
Across her work, Zoe brings together science, education, technology, and plenty of hands-on experience in the dirt to help people better understand the ecosystems around them and take meaningful action where they live.
